Emulating Dr. Carla Thomas.

It is not always necessary to emulate one who has already achieved some. A spark inside is recognized sometimes when he you read a word or hear someone speak of their ambition.

As an academician, I am genuinely inspired and motivated when one of my students expresses her goal and ambition. Something turned inside me when I listened to the latest ‘Inside Online Education’ podcast from capella university, that featured an interview with Dr. Carla Thomas, a family physician in Anniston, Alabama, who is pursuing a PhD in healthcare administration at Capella. Dr. Thomas discusses her ambition to one day become U.S. surgeon general.

The podcast that lasted only 15 minutes can inspire every student and teacher. Capella University which is an accredited online university is churning out brilliant students every year in many faculties.

These podcasts have become my class room’s regular feature. I make my students listen to them and conduct a 15 minute discussion on it.

These podcasts can be downloaded at the Capella website-capella.edu.
